Ausangate Rainbow Mountain Trek 3d/2n Your adventure begins early in the morning with a scenic drive from Cusco to the quaint Andean village of Pacchanta. As you journey through the Peruvian highlands, you’ll be captivated by the panoramic views of the Andes, characterized by their towering peaks and verdant valleys.
Upon arriving in Pacchanta, a welcoming community known for its traditional way of life, you’ll have the opportunity to relax and acclimate in the village’s famous hot springs. These natural thermal baths are the perfect way to soothe any pre-trek nerves and prepare your muscles for the days ahead.
After a rejuvenating soak, you’ll set out on your trek towards Ninaparayoq. The trail ascends gradually, allowing you to acclimatize to the increasing altitude while taking in the breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, you’ll pass through picturesque alpine meadows, dotted with wildflowers and grazing llamas. As you approach Ninaparayoq, the majestic Ausangate Mountain comes into view, its snow-capped peak gleaming in the sunlight.
Upon reaching your campsite at Ninaparayoq, you’ll be greeted with a stunning panorama of the surrounding mountains. As night falls, the high-altitude setting provides an unparalleled stargazing experience. The clear Andean skies reveal a mesmerizing tapestry of stars, planets, and constellations, making for a truly magical evening.
Ausangate Rainbow Mountain Trek 3d/2n After a hearty breakfast, you’ll break camp and continue your journey towards Azulqocha. This part of the trek takes you deeper into the rugged beauty of the Andes, with each step bringing new and awe-inspiring vistas. The trail meanders through serene valleys and ascends challenging passes, offering glimpses of the region’s diverse flora and fauna.
As you trek, you’ll encounter sparkling glacial streams and pristine lakes, reflecting the surrounding peaks like mirrors. The tranquility of the landscape is punctuated by the occasional sight of Andean wildlife, such as vicuñas and condors soaring high above.
Upon reaching Azulqocha, you’ll set up camp by the serene blue lake that gives the area its name. As the sun sets, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, you’ll be treated to another evening of spectacular stargazing. Upon arrival in Pacchanta, you’ll have time for a final dip in the hot springs, providing a soothing end to your trekking adventure. The thermal waters are a perfect remedy for any lingering soreness and a great way to celebrate the completion of your trek.
After relaxing in the hot springs, you’ll enjoy a traditional Andean lunch before embarking on the drive back to Cusco.
