Day 1: Sacred Valley Cultural Landscapes & Traditional Villages

Your portrait and landscape photography tour in the Sacred Valley begins with a scenic drive from Cusco to the beautiful Andean village of Chinchero, famous for its traditional textile culture and colorful Andean markets. This is a fantastic place to photograph local Quechua women wearing traditional clothing, vibrant woven textiles, and authentic Andean daily life.

We continue to the fascinating circular terraces of Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes—perfect for landscape photography in the Andes.

Next we visit the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of salt ponds cascade down the mountainside. The geometric patterns and bright mineral colors create striking compositions for creative landscape photography.

In the afternoon we arrive at Ollantaytambo, one of the most picturesque Inca towns in Peru, where we spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Today we travel south to the colorful Andean town of Pitumarca, located in a remote valley surrounded by spectacular mountains.

Pitumarca is famous for its vibrant traditional clothing, making it an exceptional location for portrait photography in the Andes. Local farmers, shepherds, and artisans continue to live according to ancient traditions, providing authentic moments for documentary and cultural photography.

Photographers will capture daily life, traditional dress, and powerful portraits against dramatic mountain landscapes.

Overnight in Pitumarca.

Day 5: Raqchi Cultural Heritage & Return to Cusco Pitumarca – Raqchi – Cusco

On the final day we visit the impressive Inca archaeological site of Raqchi, home to the monumental Temple of Wiracocha. The massive adobe walls and surrounding Andean landscapes provide unique opportunities for architecture and cultural landscape photography.

Local artisans and traditional communities in the area also offer wonderful portrait and cultural photography opportunities.

After a final photography session, we return to Cusco, concluding this unforgettable Andean portrait photography tour.
