The Ultimate Cultural and Portrait Photography Journey Through the Heart of the Andes

Deep within the Peruvian Andes, where ancient traditions continue to flourish and Quechua communities preserve centuries-old customs, lies one of South America's most rewarding destinations for portrait photography. This exclusive 9-day Peru Portrait Photography Tour has been carefully designed for photographers seeking authentic cultural encounters, meaningful storytelling, and extraordinary images beyond the traditional tourist routes.

From the colorful weaving villages of the Sacred Valley to the remote highland communities of the Q'eros Nation, every day offers opportunities to create intimate environmental portraits, document traditional lifestyles, and capture spectacular mountain landscapes bathed in the golden light of the Andes.

Unlike conventional tours, this expedition is paced specifically for photographers. We spend time building respectful relationships with local families, allowing genuine interactions and natural expressions that result in powerful storytelling images. Along the way you'll photograph traditional textiles, vibrant markets, alpaca herders, ancient agricultural terraces, colonial villages, dramatic mountain scenery, and one of the last living Inca cultures.

Whether you are a professional photographer, documentary storyteller, travel photographer, or passionate enthusiast, this expedition delivers an unforgettable visual journey through one of Peru's most authentic cultural regions.

Day 1 – Cusco • Chinchero • Moray • Maras Salt Mines • Ollantaytambo

After breakfast, we leave Cusco and enter the spectacular Sacred Valley of the Incas. We continue to the remarkable circular agricultural terraces of Moray, where dramatic geometry, mountain landscapes, and changing light create beautiful landscape compositions.

After lunch we travel to the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, one of Peru's most photogenic locations. Thousands of brilliant white salt ponds cascade down the mountainside, producing extraordinary textures, reflections, and patterns during golden hour.

As the afternoon light softens, we continue to the charming Inca town of Ollantaytambo, where narrow cobblestone streets and original Inca architecture provide excellent evening photography.
