DAY 1 — CUSCO • PITUMARCA • VINICUNCA • RED VALLEY • ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY

Cusco – Pitumarca – Vinicunca – Red Valley – Pitumarca

Morning Departure from Cusco

Your photography expedition begins at approximately 9:00 AM, departing Cusco by private transportation toward the Andean town of Pitumarca.

The journey takes you through spectacular highland scenery, traditional Andean communities, agricultural valleys and increasingly dramatic mountain landscapes.

We continue toward the Vinicunca area, allowing opportunities for photographic stops along the route when conditions and light are favorable.

Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain

Upon reaching the trailhead, we begin our hike toward Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain, one of the most recognizable landscapes in the Peruvian Andes.

At altitude, we take a deliberate approach to photography rather than rushing from one viewpoint to another. Time is dedicated to:

After breakfast, we continue our photography expedition toward Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain, a spectacular area featuring colorful mountain formations and expansive views across the southern Peruvian Andes.

Palcoyo offers a different photographic experience from Vinicunca, with multiple colorful ridges and broad Andean perspectives.
We dedicate time to exploring compositions rather than simply photographing the main viewpoint.
