12-Day Private Manu Bird Photography Expedition in Peru
Explore the legendary Manu Road, photograph spectacular Andean and Amazonian birds, and discover one of Peru's richest wildlife destinations on a fully private photography expedition.
Tour Overview
Discover the extraordinary birdlife of southern Peru on our 12-Day Private Manu Bird Photography Expedition, an immersive journey created for wildlife photographers, bird photographers, and nature enthusiasts seeking exceptional photographic opportunities in the Andes and Amazon rainforest.
Led by an experienced local photography guide, this private expedition takes you from the highlands around Cusco and the Sacred Valley into the spectacular cloud forests and tropical ecosystems of Manu. Instead of rushing between destinations, we dedicate time to productive photography locations, carefully planned morning sessions, feeder gardens, forest trails, and selected wildlife photography hides where available.
Begin by photographing colorful Andean hummingbirds in the Sacred Valley, including the impressive Sword-billed Hummingbird and, with luck, the endemic Bearded Mountaineer. Continue along the renowned Manu Road, where changing elevations reveal new habitats and opportunities to photograph tanagers, toucans, trogons, quetzals, and other cloud forest specialties.
At selected locations, we focus on the spectacular Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, Peru's national bird, as well as colorful hummingbirds, forest birds, and the magnificent King Vulture where suitable photography facilities and access are available.
The journey includes carefully selected accommodation, private ground transportation, guided photography sessions, meals, and logistical coordination throughout the itinerary.
