6-Day Manu Birdwatching and Photography Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Huacarpay Lake – Huayquecha Biological Station
Depart Cusco at approximately 5:30 a.m. and travel to Huacarpay Lake, an important wetland area for birdwatching near the city.
Explore suitable viewpoints around the lake and search for Andean wetland birds, waterfowl, and regional specialties. Possible subjects include the Bearded Mountaineer, Plumbeous Rail, Cinnamon Teal, Puna Teal, Yellow-billed Pintail, and other birds depending on conditions.
